I'm Jesper Jacobsen. I live in Portgual, where I help build the future.
I’ve loved making things for as long as I can remember, and have build a career around it. I’ve been working with both software and hardware, building everything from websites to robots to self-driving sofas.
The only thing I loved more than computers as a kid was adventures. I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world, and I’ve always been accompanied by great friends and family. At the age of 16, I attended my first overseas programming conference, in England. I was hooked. The atmosphere at the conference was like nothing else, and I was determined to bring that to Denmark. That same summer, I started a conference called PHPJutland.
A lot of my early experience comes from volunteering at local events and festivals.Ikast Musikliv is a local music festival that I’ve been involved with for over 10 years, and now I’m the CTO of the festival. It all started with the manual labor of setting up and tearing down the festival, and slowly I saw opportunities for tech to automate a lot of the tasks.
Today, I’m the founder of JapSeyz, where we’re working on enterprise solutions, to help bring the regions of Denmark into the digital age. JapSeyz is also heavily involved with the danish insurance industry, where our product insurance-portal.app is used by brokers and agents nationwide.
